Most faults are displayed on the digital screens of Vent Axia Sentinel Kinetic MVHR Systems. Mechanical issues like worn out bearings, loud vibrations, bad smells and condensation leaks may not show up as faults.

Models like the Vent Axia Astra, Vent Axia E, and Vent Axia 204 are now obsolete, with all parts discontinued. If you own one of these models and you experience mechanical failure. Our advice is an MVHR replacement. Repairing a 10- to 20-year-old ventilation system is risky, as you’re likely to repeat the process. If you can’t afford a new unit, you could use a good-quality dehumidifier in the interim.
What To Do If My Vent Axia MEV MVDC-MSH System Fails.
Mechanical Extract Ventilation systems (MEV) run year-round but lack protective filters. You can tell an MEV unit has stopped working if the kitchen smells bad, the bathroom walls remain damp after a shower, or you can hear a loud noise emanating from the cupboard.
Holding a block of single-ply tissue over the air vents will help you determine whether you have a serious blockage or confirm whether the unit has failed. A deep duct cleaning service could be a solution instead of a repair or replacement.
Replacing the Vent Axia MEV MVDC-MSH is cheaper than repairing it. The fan motor and PCB/motherboard often fail, and the repairs can cost more than the unit itself. Your unit may have a small access hatch that needs to be enlarged for repairs.

Replacing motors in Vent-Axia MVHR Sentinel Kinetic models, like the BH, FH, and Plus B units, is more expensive. To access the fan motors, you must carefully take apart the clickable panels. The unit needs to be disconnected and placed on a flat surface for replacement, as the motors are not accessible when mounted on the wall.
In contrast, you can repair the Vent-Axia Sentinel Kinetic Advance and Econiq models by removing the front panel.
Vent-Axia offers a 5-year parts warranty for the Sentinel Kinetic Lo Carbon Motor Range and a 2-year warranty for other mechanical parts, like sensors and PCBs.

If you have a Sentinel Kinetic BH or Plus unit that was made before 2018 and you require a fan motor replacement, you will need to upgrade the motherboard as the modern DC motors are not compatible with the older PCB boards.
