An MVHR system that runs efficiently costs between £40 and £60 a year to run. But remember, you spend less to heat your home because the heat recovery system recycles the waste heat and warms the rooms up it saving you up to £300 annually. An annual service preserves the life of your ventilation system.
A red light or code error on your ventilation system is a sign of unit failure. Vent Axia MVHR units show a code 01 or 02 when the motors fail. Nuaire MRXBOX units will show a flashing red light that will turn solid after a few seconds when the motors fail. A lack of servicing is usually the cause of MVHR system failing.
Your ventilation system should not extract or supply too much air. Whilst ventilating the property it should use a low amount of energy. The timers, boost, purge and humidity switches must all work correctly. Every MVHR system should have a Part F certificate that show the trickle and boost airflow rates.
Check your filters every 2 months and vacuum them if they are dusty. There is no rule as to when you should replace your filters. If they look like they need to be replaced, replace them. Don't waste your time washing them. Clogged filters will reduce the air travelling from bathrooms and ensuites.
Do you think there are others in your building or apartment block who might be interested in a ventilation system service? We offer group discounts starting at 25% (with a minimum of 3 bookings from £140 per property.)
Please note that the standard MVHR service fee start from £169 including VAT. (new replacement filters included)
Excessive noise from your ventilation system might suggest dust and debris buildup, impacting its efficiency. Motor or PCB issues could also be factors, but we can help with those too!
Lingering steam after a shower can signal poor ventilation, raising the risk of condensation and mold. This might be due to clogged systems or issues with ducting, motors, or sensors.
It's crucial for your ventilation system to maintain a fresh atmosphere. If your home feels stuffy, there might be a blockage in the system or issues with motors or PCB.
